Graham Windham has as
its core belief the power of education and, in particular, literacy as a
primary force for individual and collective progress and achievement in
American society. Education, wrote Joseph Addison nearly 300 years ago,
is the companion which no misfortune can depress, no crime can destroy,
no enemy can alienate, no despotism can enslave. Education, of course, is
also the prerequisite for adult self-sufficiency and the self-esteem that
comes with mastery and productivity
